Bloom Classroom has opened its doors for your creative recreation by hour. Showcasing my analog illustration with handmade print blocks and original prints I continue my work. Join in!

 

I'm happy to offer room, expertise and material for your own printing. A range of beautiful analog techniques as pencil, marker, ink, paper cut, scratchboard, watercolor, acrylic painting, carving are also to be discovered. Or you bring your own material. 

 

There will be musical workshops for beginners: a microphone class to explore your voice, jam simple (1 chord, 2 chords, 4 chords), instrumental experimental, songwriting, stage experience. (Everybody can find something to sing or play along, so don't be shy and try!)

Vector illustration:

 

On long term professional experience I'm specialized in vector illustration such as manual illustration, logo, icon, pictogramm, technical drawing, infographic and character design in the context of manual design, package design, editorial design, scenography and architecture. 

 

Analog blockprint:

 

My work for reportagen magazine made me develop a pictorial language based on handmade cut-out and blockprint. Monochrome and formally reduced, the visuals appear refreshingly analog through scissor cut shapes and printed texture. The style set foot in my professional illustration work and in my personal print art. Nevertheless I'm a friend of staying flexible and always search for the form that fits most.

 

Graphic design education:

 

I studied graphic design at Schule für Gestaltung St. Gallen and worked some years in a public relation and advertising agency, bevore I became self-employed and and joined the collective Kabeljau. Rooted in the culture szene with flyers and character design we made a living with coorporate projects, explored new media for graphic designers and wrote two books about digital design.

Lectures:

 

Our second book allowed me to teach vectorbased illustration at various design schools: ZHdK, Grafikfachklasse Luzern, Punkt G and currently at F+F schule für kunst und design in the departement of visual communication. Analog Illustration became another expertise as teacher at F+F where I also mentorate students.

 

Scenographic design:

 

In the context of exhibitions I experienced a wide range of mandates in collaboration with scenographic ateliers: Graphic design, illustration, wall painting and project management for touchscreen installations (Landesmuseum, Verkehrshaus Luzern, Schloss Lenzburg, Römerpfad Windisch).
